Let the Spirits Move You!

This week there are lots of ways to get into the Hallowe'en spirit. You can get in touch with the spirits directly at Psychic Saturdays at Soul Scents in Almonte from 10am to 5pm with Nancy Kerr-Wilson (walk-ins are welcome, but you can call 256-6322 to book a specific time). Just a few steps down Mill Street, Foodies Fine Foods invites you to Dinner with Dead People (dinner and séance) on the evening of October 30. And you can travel there in great style with vintage duds or a rented costume from Vintage Wear – check out their Hallowe'en-themed window this month!

Over in Carleton Place, the annual BIA Maskeraid Parade will feature scads of spirits, and you can let the spirit move you to donate non-perishable food items to the Lanark County Food Bank. The parade takes place on Saturday, October 29, starting at 7pm and winding its way down Bridge Street. Then at 8pm you can wander over to the Carleton Place Town Hall and catch Murray McLauchlan in concert!

That same weekend in Almonte you can partake of a Progressive Fashion Show and Dinner on the 28th, and hear Dave Tilston and Linda Marie Grenier on the 29th in the intimate setting of Peace of Mind Creations and Friends (in the Heritage Court). Also on the 29th, you can carve pumpkins with your kids under the expert tutelage of Jeff at JB Arts (he even promises to clean up all the mess!).
