Dear Ms. Blake,

Thank you for your email of Sunday and your follow-up today. We endeavor to provide timely replies however have a range of duties and therefore cannot always respond immediately.

First off let us assure you that we have been working on this project for far more than a year. However, waterpower development is a complex undertaking and proper planning is key. At present, the project is at the conceptual design stage and the design of the powerhouse has not been considered, at least from an aesthetics standpoint. We have been focusing our efforts on the design of the facility as it relates to the avoidance and mitigation of hydrological and ecological impacts, for which at this stage there are two options under review. Until recently, these issues were the primary considerations affecting the conceptual design of the facility. The issue of how the design of the powerhouse will affect the aesthetics of the surrounding area had not been raised as a concern. Accordingly, we would appreciate your input, as well as that of the community, as to what would be perceived as acceptable.

We continue to follow the process laid out in the Class Environmental Assessment for Waterpower Projects. Typically, given the site specific nature of waterpower projects, engineering design only proceeds past the conceptual stage following the completion of the EA. All feedback received through the course of the EA process will inform this design, including an elevation plan, building materials, etc. The project is also subject to a permitting process under which these designs will be finalized.

We can assure you that as soon as we have a conceptual plan for the what the powerhouse will look like we will share with the community. We anticipate that we would be in a position to provide this information towards the end of June 2012.

Thank you for your interest in our project.

Regards,

Pilar DePedro

Subject: enquiry re power house to be erected at Enerdu dam site

Dear Ms. Lalonde:

Tami Sugarman's email answerer has redirected me to you, and my query is re the planned size of the new power house and building to be erected above it, in front of the old flour mill, on the Mississippi River.

When Ron and Tami came to our public meeting, they only brought a plan as if seen from above. Surely by now after a year of work, you must have some clear idea as to the size of that building? Do you plan it to be flat-topped or peaked? It is hard to be realistic about your project without elevation drawings.

Would you have any such drawings or estimates you could share? I am working with the concerned citizens, and I would like to be able to visualize the project.
