We're in the home stretch for Mississippi Mills Bicycle Month but there are still several activities planned to keep Mississippi Millians pedalling away. Your last chance to get in on the fun will be this Friday when the Mississippi Mills version of a Critical Mass Ride takes to the streets. Crtitical Mass Rides are group bicycle rides which take place the last Friday of every month in over 300 cities around the world. The purpose of the rides is to raise the profile of cycling and advocate for safe cycling conditions in their communities. Come out and try it – it is very empowering to cycle through the town in a group, especially for cyclists who are nervous about interacting with cars.

On Saturday night, come on out to the Almonte Old Town Hall at 7pm and support a "first" in the Valley — the inaugural performance of Dragon's Breath. This theatrical event puts the focus on diversity as children, youth, adults, seniors, people with physical challenges, and those from various sexual orientations share their personal stories. Prepare to open your heart to learn more about members of your community — how they faced obstacles, overcame prejudice, and grew strong enough to share their experiences with you the audience. Tickets are only $12 and can be reserved or purchased at the door. Dragon's Breath will also be performed in Renfrew as part of that town's first-ever Diversity Festival on July 7.
