The Mississippi Valley Textile Museum is joining with the Almonte Potters’ Guild to offer a week-long day camp for children aged 8 to 12. The camp offers a stimulating environment for kids who enjoy completing arts and crafts projects, with a focus on having fun while enjoying many different ways to be creative.

Campers will spend each morning at the Potters’ Guild using hand-building and wheel throwing to create unique pieces sure to become family treasures. After lunch, they will enjoy a guided walk through historic Almonte to the Textile Museum for an afternoon working with different mediums and concepts to engage young imaginations. By the end of the week each camper will have created a large composite fabric “painting,” a one-of-a kind personalized T-shirt, a unique frame for a favourite 5 x 7 photo, as well as an amazing birdhouse.
