- OPP press release

On April 5, 2013 at approximately 3:10 am the Carleton Place Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to a house fire on Lisgar Street and a shed fire on Princess Street.

The Ocean Wave Fire Company was at the scene of both fires and there were no injuries sustained in either.  The fires are within close proximity of each other and are suspicious.  The house on Lisgar Street sustained extensive damage and a neighbouring garage was also damaged.  The shed on Princess Street was completely destroyed.

Later in the day the OPP received two reports of fire damage to two vehicles on Princess Street.  Police were also informed of fire damage to a residence porch on George Street.

The Lanark County OPP Crime Unit is investigating with the assistance of the Office of The Ontario Fire Marshall.  The investigation is continuing.

If anyone has information they are asked to contact OPP at 1-800-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
