For the Birds: New Beginnings

Bill

by Cheryl Baxter

Happy Easter Monday!

It’s finally spring!  The migration of many different birds has begun.  As I am out and about hiking and even driving, I am fully aware of the birds showing their affections for one another.  Ah… love is in the air!

As I am a Pakenham area resident, I can be seen travelling the area roads on a regular basis. I wanted to offer a heads up so to speak, to those who live around Mississippi Mills. If you see a pale blue Hyundai Elantra, travelling ever so slowly, or even parked on the side of the road, that is probably me.  I thought it necessary to alert my ‘neighbours’ as often I have been asked if I was alright, even having the local OPP pulling up behind me to offer me some aid.

I think there is one thing you should know about me, I have a continuously growing ‘Wish list’ of birds I would LOVE to capture on camera.  My number one bird on that list right now is the Eastern Meadowlark.   One day soon, I HOPE, I will be featuring that bird here. Stay tuned!  (If you haven’t seen my bio yet, click here)

As this is my first article, I thought  I would conclude by simply showing you some of my favourite photos of recent days.  I hope you enjoy.

Until next week, ~Cheryl
