On April 9, 1917, Easter Monday, the Canadian Army came out of its trenches and began its attack on Vimy Ridge. But they were not alone.
In this riveting one hour lecture at the Holy Name of Mary church on Sunday, April 9 at 2pm, local author and WWI historian Rob More explores how the Christian faith was such a key element in the Canadian Army successfully taking Vimy Ridge. Using information from the highly illegal diary of eyewitness Henry Barrie of Watson’s Corners, photographs recently unclassified, and readings from his latest book, Henry Barrie: Vimy Ridge Survivor, Rob will share how Vimy Ridge and WWI both brought together and tore apart Canada and Lanark County.
Rob will be available to sign copies of his new book afterwards which can bought at Mill Street Books for $24.99.
