Plans are on track for 160th Almonte Fair

160th Almonte Fair – July 13-15, 2018

Plans are well underway to produce another exciting event this year with the theme “Grandma’s Kitchen.” The prize book is at the printers so watch for it in the local stores or check our website.

Friday night back by popular demand is Classic Championship Wrestling followed by “The Derringers” in the entertainment pavilion. Saturday night Gail Gavan & Friends entertain with the best music from the Valley. Sunday’s big feature is the demolition derby.

We’re currently working on agricultural educational displays, demonstrations and vendors for the hall. This year the Women’s Institutes will trade the competitions of other years for displays of Grandma’s Kitchen from the 1920’s to the present.

As well as the fair, many other events are hosted at the fairgrounds. The Almonte Flea Market opens on Sunday May 6, operating until October every Sunday with vendors indoors and outside as well.

The second annual Ladies Night on May 11 is already sold out. This successful community fundraiser will this year benefit the Almonte General Hospital “Put yourself in the picture” campaign.

The 13th Annual Almonte Truck & Tractor Pull is on Saturday May 26. Anyone, looking to volunteer or participate contact Travis Drummond at 613-914-0038 or follow on facebook.

Bus Fusion on June 8,9,10 has proved to be such a popular event that this year advance registration is required. The Volkswagon vans come from all over North America, filled with families and dogs .They love our site by the Mississippi River.

The newly renovated hall is booked almost every weekend for weddings or other events so more work is planned to renovate the washrooms. Volunteers are needed to do the first cleanup of the grounds and grandstand on May 16 at 6 pm.
