North Lanark Regional Museum Toys and Games exhibition now open

North Lanark Regional Museum Toy exhibitThe North Lanark Regional Museum proudly opened its 2014 summer exhibit to the public on Monday, May 25th. The museum’s exhibit, Toys and Games of Mississippi Mills, features toys lent by avid toy collectors and generous locals, such as the Paul family whose artefacts truly represent a childhood from another time.

The exhibit was well attended, with over 20 visitors coming from the surrounding area to view the toys on display, including one family who came all the way from Smiths Falls to view the exhibit. The museum was extremely pleased and grateful for the generous donations, as each guest donated upwards of $3.00 each to help support the museum’s preservation efforts.

Anyone who wishes to see Toys and Games of Mississippi Mills should visit the North Lanark Regional Museum, located just off of Appleton side-road on the way into Appleton. There is plenty of time to see the exhibit as it will be running from May to late August, after which it will be removed to make room for our fall military exhibit, which will commemorate the 100th anniversary of WWI.

The museum is open to everyone, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with a suggested admission fee of $3.00 per person. Money collected from admissions will go towards updating exhibits, providing greater accessibility and improving the overall visitor experience.
