Loving hands create lap blankets for Hub Hospice

Hub Hospice Palliative Care clients are benefiting from the generosity of crafters in Almonte and Carleton Place. Skilled, loving hands have been busy knitting, knotting, and crocheting woolen lap robes, afghans and blankets. Others have been sewing caps and head coverings. These handmade treasures have been as warmly received as they are lovingly given. Not only are clients being kept cozy, but the gifts serve as a keepsake for the family.

Interested in sharing the gift of warmth with hospice clients in Mississippi Mills and North Lanark?  This spring, Mills Community Support is offering a six week program, designed to teach the necessary skills to knit or crochet a lap rug.  At the end of the lessons, your individual project will be donated to the Hub Hospice.  To learn more about this initiative, please contact Jan Watson at (613) 256-1031 x39.
