Mark your calendars for some fishing fun!
Appleton on Ice is taking place on March 14, 2015 from 11:30am to 2:30pm. This is a community and family friendly event where guests can enjoy ice fishing, a barbecue lunch, music and a bonfire.
Those interested in fishing will need to bring an ice fishing rod and a fishing licence (depending on age). Bait will be provided and we are encouraging a catch and release policy. We will be taking photos of the fish before they are released and prizes will be awarded for the biggest fish, the smallest fish and the ugliest fish caught. Rumour has it that the perch, sunfish and pickerel are all hungry this time of year!
The BBQ lunch will include hotdogs, hamburgers and soft drinks. The bonfire and music are a great option for those more interested in the socializing than the fishing! Guests are encouraged to bring their own launch chairs and to dress appropriately for the weather.
