We are excited to announce a fun-filled and free street party in celebration of Mississippi Mills Bike Month, and everyone is invited! The newly formed Mississippi Mills Family Bicycle Group (find us on Facebook) has created an evening to remember on Saturday June 6, 2015 in downtown Almonte – so grab your bike, bring a meal to share and join us in celebrating all things bike related. We will start off in conjunction with the Almonte Library Travelogue series, bringing Kathleen Wilker and her family to talk about the ins and outs of bicycling with a young family. The talk starts at 4 pm at the library, and since Kathleen and her family will be biking out from Ottawa, a group of cyclists will bike out to meet them and anyone is welcome to join us. At 5 pm, we will be closing the lower portion of Mill Street in order to set up a community potluck (in conjunction with the Neighbourhood Tomato) and everyone is welcome to bring a dish and join us for a delicious dinner. There will be live music from Ottawa’s Hey Buster (http://www.heybuster.ca/), bicycle games for all ages and many other fun activities. Come dusk, we will be hosting a bike-in movie as well, so bring a blanket and snuggle up under the stars for this family-friendly film.
