Note to readers: The Millstone via email, web and social media

We’ve had a growing number of questions about the different ways you can read the Millstone.

Email

Some readers are only familiar with the version of the paper that arrives once a day via email. It contains the full text and images of each article published in the preceding 24 hours on the Millstone website. This email version is generated by a Google service called FeedBurner, and will display differently depending on which program you use to read your email. We have little control over how it will appear in your particular program.

As well, very occasionally a story published to the website might not appear in the email version: this again is not in our control, unfortunately.

Most people read the paper through its website, which displays in your browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, etc.) The website version should display correctly on the great majority of devices, including desktop computers, iPads and iPhones, etc.

On the website you can also comment on the articles you read, after signing up to the Disqus commenting system. It’s also easier to share and bookmark articles in the web version.

If you have difficulty reading an article in the email version — for instance, if the text is too wide — try clicking on the blue link for the title of the article, as shown below. This will display the web version in your browser, which should display correctly on most devices.

Facebook

The Millstone also publishes all its stories each day on its Facebook page . If you ‘Like’ that page you can then choose to Get Notifications of new articles via Facebook, as shown below. You must be a Facebook member to use this option.

 Twitter

The Millstone also has a Twitter feed, which again publishes links to every story we publish each day. You must be a Twitter member to use this option.
