Town seeking seven citizens to serve on Riverwalk Advisory Committee

Almonte RiverwalkCouncil is seeking the services of seven (7) interested citizens who would like to serve on the Riverwalk Advisory Committee guiding the work of the Riverwalk project including promoting, advancing, defining, extending, fundraising and project managing the construction of the Riverwalk.  Mayor Shaun McLaughlin explains that the committee will plan and oversee the extension of the Riverwalk. The long-range vision is to continue the Riverwalk across Coleman Island’s east side, across a corner of Mike Dupuis’ island, up to the CP rail bed, to the old millworkers’ sidewalk, and back into town.”

The seven (7) citizens being sought shall represent various sectors of the community.

The Riverwalk Advisory Committee will be comprised of the two council members and seven community members·

Citizens interested in participating on the Riverwalk Advisory Committee are invited to submit a completed Committee/Board application form, available on the municipal website www.mississippimills.ca or at the municipal office, to the Town Clerk Julie Oram no later than 12 noon on Wednesday, June 3, 2015.
