Summer has arrived and so will the Almonte Fair from July 17-19. For many it is still difficult to prepare for the fair in July instead of September but that is reality in order to have a midway. This year we have Gable Bros booked well ahead after they agreed to come at the last minute when the other midway backed out last year. Advance midway bracelets will be on sale at usual venues-check almontefair.ca.
The prize book is also online at almontefair.ca and also in local stores so get your entries in early. The theme this year is “Recognizing 100 Years of 4-H in Ontario” so a new venture will see the Entertainment Tent full of 4-H displays and demos as an addition to the Heavy Horse Show on Sunday.
Friday night the popular Demo Derby is followed by music by Renegade in the Entertainment Tent. The Saturday night grandstand show features popular local talent -The Ryans, Marty McTiernan and Brad Munro followed by the Stool Pigeons in the Entertainment Tent.
There is lots of free entertainment for the family as Little Ray’s returns with a special Australian show in the main hall as well as Mystic Drumz. Springaction Trampolines return to thrill the crowc along with Henry’s Pony Rides .Children’s activities are offered on Saturday at the Cornerstone Communiy Church tent near the main hall.
The Education Barn will be filled with farm animals for children to interact with as well as Maple the Cow and the Grain Farmers of Ontario Trailer complete with farm toys in the corn box.
Most of the livestock shows and the pigeon show are on Saturday plus childrens games such as the Sack Race,etc.
From Friday at 1 pm ,the main hall will display garden produce,baking ,crafts and childrens’creations .
