Movies on the Mississippi finishes a successful first season

Hub Hospice_Movies on the Mississippi_poster[150120]-page-001Hub Hospice Palliative Care is pleased to announce that its first season of Movies on the Mississippi has been a success! Working with the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), Movies on the Mississippi presented five world-class films between February and June.

“We were pleased to be able to bring Academy Award-winning films like Boyhood and Still Alice to Mississippi Mills, as well as less known but critically acclaimed films like Pride, Cake, and Big News from Grand Rock.” says Helen McIntosh, chair of the Hub Hospice Palliative Care Events Committee. “We appreciate the support and interest from the community, and will take the feedback we received to improve the experience for next season.”

Movies on the Mississippi was made possible by the efforts of many volunteers, and by community businesses including Gamble Funeral Home, Pêches & Poivre, Baker Bob’s and Nicholson’s. In addition to the community’s support, we gratefully acknowledge our partnership with Film Circuit, presented by TIFF and its sponsors and supporters.

Proceeds from Movies on the Mississippi support Hub Hospice Palliative Care, a registered charity providing home hospice palliative support to residents of Mississippi Mills, Carleton Place and North Lanark.
