  1. quizDolby is a noise reduction system invented by Ray Dolby, an American engineer.  The system changed our listening experience.  Before him, movies and television featured only one channel of sound. Today, the system is used mostly in analog recording, while digital audio has replaced it otherwise.
  2.  Warrior was the horse ridden by General Jack Seely, a Briton who commanded the Canadian cavalry in France in WW1.  Called ‘the horse the Germans couldn’t kill’, Warrior performed many well-documented acts of heroism on the Western Front throughout the 4 years of war.  Born on the Isle of Wight, the horse also died there at the age of 32.
  3.  Emily Carr, the Canadian artist whose work centred on themes from nature and First Nations imagery, wrote Klee Wyck.
