Have you ever wished that you could sit right next to an orchestra while it’s playing?  Or watch the finger work of the violinists close up or actually feel the sound vibrations of the double bass??

Well, here’s your opportunity.

The Ottawa Summer Strings Orchestra is coming to the Almonte Old Town Hall  and the 25 musicians actually like to set up on the floor with the audience surrounding them.  They love the intimacy of this arrangement and you will too.  If you’re lucky, you may even find a seat next to Conductor Donnie Deacon and be able to follow along with the music score!

Next Saturday, September 12th, at 7:30 pm come and enjoy this special concert.  Tickets are $25 and are available at the Almonte Old Town Hall and Mill Street Books.

This will be the second time that this excellent group of musicians conducted by Donnie Deacon from the NAC Orchestra will have come to Almonte.  They love the acoustics and ambiance of the Ron Caron Auditorium at our Old Town Hall and they love the Almonte audiences!!

On the program will be Flute soloist Aura Giles with CPE Bach’s “Concerto for Flute in D Minor”  and Harpist Kristina Slodki who will join the orchestra in a performance of Elgar’s “Sopiri”.    Also on the program will be Mendelssohn’s String Symphony #10, Handel’s Concerto Grosso, Badinerie by J.S. Bach and a new piece titled “Summer Songs” by Randy Demmon, double bass player for the orchestra.

Be sure to buy a ticket to this very special music concert.  See you there.
