Mills Community Support Assisted Living Team – STARS in Champlain LHIN Survey

In each of the last two years, the Champlain Local Health Integration Network (LHIN) has undertaken a customer satisfaction survey of the assisted living programmes for which they provide funding.

Last year the feedback regarding the services provided by Mills Community Support (MCS) Assisted Living team was extremely positive across the board. In the most recent survey results released late last month, in addition to improvements over the excellent results achieved during the previous year, the feedback regarding the services provided was significantly more positive than that received for all services across the Champlain Region.

Mills Community Support Director of Community Supports and Services, Clem Pelot, who was of course very pleased with the results, commented “I am especially happy with this wonderful recognition of the level of care our Assisted Living Team takes throughout the process…from meeting with people face-to-face for the first time, providing information on what is available, through providing excellence in personal care, they really are exceptional.” (The accompanying chart shows the results of the Mills Community Support team as compared with the aggregate of all other organizations within the Champlain LHIN.)

While the results were indeed excellent, Mr. Pelot went on to say that there were areas in which it is hoped that further improvements can be made in the future. He noted that “there is an increasing need for higher and more complex services, even just within the past year, and there is not enough funded time to provide these services to our clients…this needs to be addressed at some point in the very near future to maintain the level of service we want to be able to provide to our clients who truly need it.”
