JazzN.ca is thrilled to announce that, through the generous support of our corporate sponsors, the January 9th. 2016 JazzNhouse concert will be a fundraiser for the Almonte General Hospital/Fairview Manor and the Carleton Place District & Memorial Hospital.

JazzN.ca sponsor Keith Bean (Bean Cars) suggested the project with the intention of raising awareness and funds for our local hospitals. The concert will take place in the Bean Car showroom. Guests will drive directly into the “Service Bay” where they will be provided with complimentary valet parking then be welcomed by representatives of both hospitals and seated inside the spacious showroom for concert start-up time of 8:00 pm.

Thanks to the generous support of CR Gamble Funeral Home (Almonte) and Rental Village (Carleton Place) guests will be offered a glass of wine and a relaxed setting to enjoy the evening mingling with friends and performers. As with all JazzNhouse concerts, guest are encouraged to bring their favourite beverages to enjoy during the performance and savouries or sweets to share during the interval.

Herbie’s Hill will be the featured performers that evening. The band is composed of Michel Delage (drums), Richard Page (tenor sax), Vince Rimbach (tenor sax), Steve Boudreaux (keyboards), Joe Hincke (bass).

Their music reflects the seminal talents of legendary American jazz artists Herbie Nichols and Andrew Hill. Although never performing together, both men drew critical acclaim during their respective careers. In addition to being a highly original piano stylist, Herbie Nichols is well known for his compositions, most notably Lady Sings the Blues made famous by Billie Holiday. Andrew Hill’s music defied categorization for over four decades with its enigmatic and sophisticated musical style. He was hailed by The New York Times as “one of the 1960’s jazz heroes” and was alternately referred to as a genius and a master by critics and colleagues alike.

The cost for the evening is $35.00 pp with all proceeds shared between the two hospitals. To reserve your place, go to JazzN.ca – January 9, 2016 concert (http://www.jazzn.ca/reserve- a-seat.html#20160109). You will receive a receipt via email and your name will be added to the guest list.
