On Sunday October 16, Kathy Sadler will launch her book Lost Your Car Keys?, a collection of whimsical stories about lost keys with a touching backstory.
It was written to raise awareness and serve as a reminder to keep keys out of the hands of impaired drivers. This book is a tribute to Kathy’s daughter Heather who tragically died at 21 when she was in a hit and run alcohol related crash on August 22, 1999 on the highway between Almonte and Carleton Place. Since then Kathy has been actively involved in MADD and she plans to donate proceeds to MADD and Canadian Diabetes Association.
Kathy Sadler lived and taught in the Almonte area. The launch at will take place Mill Street Books, 52 Mill Street in Almonte, on October 16 at 3:00pm — the day before what would have been Heather’s 37th birthday.
Kathy said, “I am excited to be doing this because our family is from the area, and although I am currently living in Ottawa, all my six children went to schools locally and we were a well-known family.”
