The North Lanark Historical Society’s fall speaker series will continue on Wednesday, October 12 at 7PM with a presentation by Bruce Toshack titled “Horses to Horsepower: History of Firefighting in Mississippi Mills.”
Mr. Toshack is a long-time member of the Mississippi Mills Fire Department and an avid collector of firefighting memorabilia. He will have items on display as part of his presentation, which covers the early days of the town’s fire department up to the present.
The talk also marks Fire Prevention Week, which runs from October 9th to the 15th this year. The presentation will be held at the North Lanark Regional Museum, 647 River Road in Appleton.
