“Without Exception: Exceptional Art from Beautiful Minds” — October 6

‘Without Exception: Exceptional Art from Beautiful Minds’  is an arts initiative for special needs students in the Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario.

img_5458Inspired by three special needs artists in her classroom at Notre Dame Catholic High School in Carleton Place, art teacher Sarah Jaynes founded Without Exception in 2008 in order to highlight and share the talents of special needs artists within the CDSBEO.

Today, in it’s ninth year, the program celebrates the artistic efforts of 40 artists from all over Eastern Ontario.

Yearly themes keep us focused.  This year we are proud to unveil 40 unique artworks of flower arrangements.

All artworks exhibited are created by very talented young artists with a unique perspective on the world. We hope that they remind you of the exceptional talents in everyone.

Revenues from the sale of our merchandise are donated to the Good Samaritan Trust Fund which supports students and families in difficulty within the CDSBEO.

While the theme and process is the same no two students ever make the same choices. In this way our art always speaks of who we are. Allowing yourself to be engaged by someone’s art is much like taking the time to get to know them.

I invite you to get to know us, this Thursday October 6th between 5:30 and 7:30 at the R Tait Memorial Gallery, Mill of Kintail, Almonte.

This Thursday is also The Autumn Street Market in downtown Almonte from 5-9. I suggest you make a night of it!
