Your space is an enormously comfortable 375 sq. ft. studio loft on the second floor of the Thoburn Mill. It consists of a well equipped full kitchen, small dining area overlooking the river and the historic Old Town Hall as well as a comfortable sitting area with latched windows opening onto a small Juliette balcony for wonderful summer breezes and the sound of the upper falls in the background. The sleeping area contains a comfortable queen size bed with blackout blinds, full sized dresser and two night stands. A wall mount television can be positioned for viewing in bed or tilted to view from the sitting area. The three piece bathroom with shower is spacious.
Onsite… First floor entrance gallery of stone sculptures by Deborah Arnold. Absolute Massage Therapy is located on the first floor. Perhaps you will need a soothing massage after a long day of paddling on the Mississippi River. Outside… Steps from the back door stroll through the small garden which contains some artifacts from the Mill and connects to Almonte Riverwalk.
Our studio loft is situated in the perfect location to enjoy all that downtown Almonte has to offer. Within two or three blocks you will find all the amenities and a rich trove of galleries, shops, and restaurants. The Old Town Hall is next door for concerts and cultural events. There are roughly 13 eating establishments for every taste, 4 art galleries, 3 antique shops, a bakery, a butcher (which also offers some fresh produce, cheese and local eggs), the library, the beer store, LCBO, and numerous other wonderful shops all within 3 blocks of the loft. Fully equipped, just bring your clothes – 850 weekly, 1500 monthly, 1300 a month for longer stays.
