Civitan ‘Wine and Dine’ supports local child with cancer

May 4th – A Special Almonte Civitan Club Event

Canada Wine and Dine is a special Almonte Civitan Club event to raise funds to support a family dealing with childhood cancer. Aiden Verk, age 8, has been diagnosed with medulloblastoma, brain cancer.

He has undergone surgery, treatments in Boston and Toronto, radiation and physio to learn to walk and talk again. Having undergone all this, a routine six-month scan has indicated that cancer has returned. Never giving up hope, other treatment options are being sought and chemo has recommenced. This event is to raise funds to help Adrien, his mom Stephanie, and his two younger brothers meet medical expenses and care for Aiden and the family.

On Friday, May 4th, Canada Wine and Dine is a 4 course paired tasting featuring Canadian wine and food. Some of you will remember the monthly wine and food pairings the Civitan featured last year, which featured wines from around the world and fabulous food pairings – this evening, like the others, will not disappoint.

To purchase your tickets, advanced sale only, call (613) 256-6234. Tickets are $75.00 per person, limited to 100 tickets.

This is a fight that everyone can do something to help.
