‘Archetypal Transformations’ vernissage, June 28

It is with great pleasure that Art in the Manor presents paintings by Jane Barlow, a psychiatrist from Ottawa, who specializes in watercolour paintings of faces or figures.

She has specialized in watercolour for the past 23 years and enjoys  “its transparency, relatively uncontrollable nature, as well as its immediacy of response and need for definitive decision-making”

Her current subject matter explores guides, or perhaps mythical characters, or “archetypes”, “each one being one aspect of personality, one way of being in the world . . .  and supports in these difficult times.”

She is a fellow of the Ottawa Watercolour Society and has received awards for her work from the OWS,  the Ottawa Art Association and the Nepean Fine Arts League.

We invite you to come to the vernissage next Thursday, June 28th,  7-9 pm, at the lobby gallery of Fairview Manor. We can guarantee you will find this intriguing!
