Our RETIRED…NOT EXPIRED Walking Group is heading to PURDON CONSERVATION AREA – a unique wetland famous for its exceptionally large native colony of Showy Lady’s Slipper Orchids. Each year between mid-June and early July, thousands of magnificent orchids burst into delicate pink and white bloom. The boardwalk trail (there are two interconnected loops) is wheelchair accessible and gives visitors a close-up look at the pink orchids, as well as the yellow lady slipper, pitcher plant and many other woodland flora.

Our guides Allan Goddard and Neil Carleton, both experienced field naturalists, will accompany the group.

Bus transportation in our fully accessible bus AND picnic lunch (weather permitting) included!

The Retired…Not Expired walking group meets on the last Wednesday of every month from spring through fall, and visits a new and different venue each time.
