food for thought – a cookbook book club

Fall Meeting
17 October 2018
1:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Are you interested in cooking food, talking food and eating food?  The Almonte Branch of the library is starting a Cookbook Book Club that will meet quarterly in the spring, summer, fall and winter to do just that.  Each season there will be a theme and the library will bring in cookbooks to lend to all participants. We’ll all cook from the same cookbook and bring samples for each other to try while we:

  • talk about food and what food and preparing food means to us;
  • maybe even get out of our comfort zone and sample foods new to us;
  • discuss cooking techniques, food traditions, exchange cooking tips and share food anecdotes; and
  • discuss the recipes we choose, the preparation, level of difficulty and new techniques learned.

You’ll receive a call to come in and pick up your book approximately 3 weeks before the meeting to give you time to look through it and choose your recipe.

Space is limited so please register before August 28 at the library

or by calling  613-256-1037.
