If you are thinking of a cottage or European holiday this summer, why not combine the two in a chalet in Switzerland.
This charming traditional wood paneled Swiss chalet in the tiny village of Vichères in the Swiss canton of Valais once belonged to Miss World. The chalet is just 2 hours drive from Geneva airport and clings to the mountainside 18 minutes from the St. Bernard Pass with its famous monastery. It borders on a nature reserve and is accessible by excellent roads. Hiking trails abound. Grocery shopping and restaurants are a short drive away and the cultural centre of Martigny is 30 minutes from the chalet. You pass through it on the way to Vichères. Italy is just over the St. Bernard Pass, easily reachable for a day of shopping or sight seeing. The famous Verbier music festival which takes place July 15 to August 3 is only a 40 minute drive along excellent roads.
The chalet is fully equipped and comprises a living/dining room, kitchen and three bedrooms, easily sleeping 6 people. A deck off the living/dining room overlooks an Alpine valley. It has all the modern conveniences including a fully equipped kitchen and washer/dryer
