Appleton ‘Toonie Book Sale’ supports youth in Ecuador, Saturday

The Great ‘Toonie’ Book Sale!
Saturday April 27, 10 am to 4 pm, 280 Wilson Street, Appleton

Attention book lovers! Don’t miss our third annual ‘Toonie’ Book Sale in support of Community Ascent Network, on April 27 from 10am to 4pm at 280 Wilson Street, Appleton.  Our last book sale was such a success that we decided to do it again!  Fiction and non-fiction, contemporary and classics, hard cover and paperback, all kinds of new and nearly new books will be available for a donation of just one ‘toonie’ each. A great opportunity to stock up for your summer reading and support a worthy cause!

We’re still accepting book donations, and welcome any books that are in very good condition. They can be dropped off at the address above any time before Fri, April 26.

All proceeds from the sale of books will go towards supporting the education of indigenous youth in Ecuador. Community Ascent Network is a registered charity founded by local resident Simon Cretien. As an International Development student, Simon spent a year in Ecuador working with indigenous communities. Inspired by his visits to the remote Andean community of Pinan, Simon has undertaken to help them provide secondary education for their youth.  Learn more about this worthy project at
