Pitch in and help clean up town, April 21-27

April is Pitch-In Month. It’s time to get out there and help clean up our community.

As the snow recedes (finally), and we revel in the prospect of spring, all manner of messy bits that were hidden by the snow are surfacing.

Some members of the Beautification Working Group have already been out there tidying up Almonte’s downtown. They removed the large Christmas tree they set up last December in the Naismith Square and swept up piles of leaves and winter litter for Public Works to haul away.

Pitch-In Week this year runs from April 21-27. So grab your shovels, brooms, bags, pick your spot and pitch in–whether it’s your street, your neighbourhood, the roadsides or commercial areas.

The annual downtown Almonte cleanup is set for Saturday, April 27. Volunteers are to meet outside Baker Bob’s at 9 a.m.

See the Mississippi Millls ad in the April edition of the Humm for locations to pick up your Pitch-In bags or call 613 256-1077 for more information.

We live in a beautiful community, and it takes many volunteers to make it the best it can be.
