I’ve just been notified by way of my Almonte.com website that our town has been named a ‘Best of Ontario’ destination by the tourism website Days Out Ontario, in the category ‘Quaint Villages.’ The site’s review notes:
Almonte holds true to its mill and textile heritage with lovingly-preserved stone buildings, a textile museum, and antique shops. There are good views of the many former mills from riverside parks throughout Almonte.
This is one of several very favourable mentions Almonte has received recently on tourism and rural-life websites, and a further reminder that our heritage riverfront and downtown need care and protection.
