Yesterday I posted a notice about a Canada Day event idea: walking along the new alameda on the rail trail behind the Library while wearing suitable Canada Day attire.

Though it’s now permitted to walk along the rail trail, Riverwalk and other public outdoor spaces in town under current COVID rules — while observing social distancing practices, of course — the municipality has expressed concern that this event could be seen as a gathering of more than 10 people, which is not permitted.

So the event is cancelled.
