In answer to my question yesterday about how often the Fairground barns end up in the river during the spring run-off, Michael Dunn sent me these 1947 photos from his Almonte historic photo archive. The answer seems to be “sometimes, and then some!”

Other readers have noted that flooding like the present at the Fairgrounds isn’t especially unusual.
