Come enjoy an outdoor concert featuring some talented and entertaining musicians. “Folk in the Forest” will take place on Saturday October 2nd from 4 – 8 PM, at 280 Wilson Street, Appleton ON. This event is a fundraiser in support of the charitable organization ‘Community Ascent Network’. Tickets include a light dinner (locally sourced sausage, salad, and beverage by Perth Brewery).

All proceeds will support building a high school in the remote Indigenous village of Pinan, Ecuador by the Community Ascent Network, a non-profit started by local resident Simon Cretien. For more info about this project:

Jamie Campbell has been singing, writing and playing guitar in various bands for many years. Influenced by the likes of James Taylor and Paul Simon, Campbell’s songs generally highlight acoustic guitar and vocal harmony. Currently Jamie is in a touring production of the James Taylor/Carole King show.

Serge Monette is a francophone artist from northern Ontario.  He has produced 4 french solo albums and has performed at many french and bilingual festivals in Canada.  Monette’s songs are inspired by stories rooted in franco-ontarian history or in the simplicity of everyday life.

Jonas Barter and Steve Martin are a crowd-pleasing local duo who often perform in the Almonte area and are well known for their humorous originals and tried and true covers.
