For the Birds: Summer time!

Happy July!

A lot has happened since I last posted.  My dear Mother-in-love (law) passed away on June 4th.  It’s been a long hard road.

Interestingly enough, the morning she passed away, I decided to go to Whitehouse Perennials near Almonte to purchase some plants to plant in her memory.  It was my first time there and I was overwhelmed with the beauty of the place.  My next favourite subject to photograph, to birds, are butterflies and let me tell you…on June 4th, the Swallowtails were all over the place!!   I didn’t have my camera with me so I went back home, minutes away,  grabbed it, and returned to photograph what I could.

As I was ready to leave the 2nd time, a male cardinal flew across the parking area and landed in a tree. I stood there waiting for the sun to hit his face and it did.  It has become my favourite Cardinal photo thus far. I had a large Canvas print made and it now hangs above my dresser.

Please enjoy my photos from the last month and a bit.   Have a super summer!
