For the Birds: Summer time!

Happy July!

A lot has happened since I last posted. My dear Mother-in-love (law) passed away on June 4^th. It’s been a long hard road.

Interestingly enough, the morning she passed away, I decided to go to Whitehouse Perennials near Almonte to purchase some plants to plant in her memory. It was my first time there and I was overwhelmed with the beauty of the place. My next favourite subject to photograph, to birds, are butterflies and let me tell you…on June 4^th, the Swallowtails were all over the place!! I didn’t have my camera with me so I went back home, minutes away, grabbed it, and returned to photograph what I could.

As I was ready to leave the 2^nd time, a male cardinal flew across the parking area and landed in a tree. I stood there waiting for the sun to hit his face and it did. It has become my favourite Cardinal photo thus far. I had a large Canvas print made and it now hangs above my dresser.
