Former resident writes great Almonte travel piece

Former Almonte resident Barb MacLean, who with her husband Lindsay runs the Need Travel to Survive blog, shares this great post about her rediscovery as a traveller of the town she grew up in. Says Barb:

Growing up in the small town of Almonte, Ontario, this place is my second home; although when you are a kid you take so many things for granted.  This year for the first time, I returned home for a visit as if I was a tourist, instead of just visiting home.  It is so amazing when you explore places you take for granted, through the eyes of a tourist.  I love this town of course because I grew up here but also because it has so many amazing things to offer a tourist, who has never experienced this beautiful town.
