Who IS this woman and what will she be doing at Carriageway Studios on Canada Day?

Susan Rennick Jolliffe is a beloved Ottawa artist who is having a retrospective of 40 years of her artwork at Carriageway Studios during the month of July. But in true fashion she is has decided to create fun and havoc to start the month with an art activity at Carriageway Studios on Canada Day.

Susan will lead the creation of a Collaborative Drawing celebrating the natural world , mainly the plants and animals of Mississippi Mills. This is a free activity and open to all.  1-3 July 1st just off Mill St through the Carriageway.

Susan has been famous for decades for her wildly creative workshops with children and teachers in schools, museums and festivals, showing how to bring recycling to life as art! Besides this Susan is sought after by galleries to exhibit her often very satirical, mixed-media sculptures. Carriageway Studios is so excited to be bringing Susan and her art to Almonte!

She is a noted children’s book illustrator of her own stories and has done the artwork for local renowned children’s author and storyteller Jan Andrews. Meeting this multi-talented artist and seeing her artwork isnt to be missed!

Check www.carriageway.com for info on Susan’s free workshop on July 15 (inspired by her book:  Sculpture Vultures: Making paper animals from used paper): suitable for kids 8 and up or with adult supervision. PLUS a bang-up tea party to close the show July 30th ( this will be one of Susan’s famous Epicurean Extravaganzas: Not to be missed. Come and meet the artist)

July 1- 31, Carriageway Studios : off Millstreet through the carriageway, Almonte. www.carriagewaystudios.com
