A big congratulations goes to Glengarry Cheesemaking Inc., in Lancaster who are the Supreme Global Champion at the Global Cheese Award this past fall. They have been producing cheese since 1990. Their artisan, handcrafted Grand Champion Gouda was judged as the best cheese in the world at the annual awards. The event took place in Somerset England among 167 categories with many other famous cheeses taking part including Parmigiano Reggiano. Glengarry’s owner Margaret Peters says the win is great for our country as it’s handcrafted and pasteurized and gets better with age. The milk used is totally local as they use about 200,000 litres per year.
