Register Early for this rare opportunity to visit the Kingston Penitentiary.

Mills Community Support is planning an overnight trip to Kingston this summer which will include a tour of the Kingston Penitentiary.

It wasn’t easy, but we have managed to purchase 17 tickets for the very popular tour of the Kingston “Pen” on Wednesday, July 5. Tours through Kingston Penitentiary offer a rare and unique opportunity to go behind the walls of Canada’s oldest and most notorious maximum security prison which has only been open to the public for the last 4 years since it closed in 2013. The guided tours provide an up-close look at “KP” as an amazing historical building and a national historic site, which predates Canadian confederation.

Details:

The bus leaves Almonte on Wednesday morning and arrives in Kingston in time for the 2:30 tour. After we’ve been let out of jail, we will head downtown to stay overnight on the waterfront, where you can enjoy a stroll around the historic downtown, take in some shopping, and have supper.

On Thursday we can visit the lovely farmers market in the marketplace downtown, and we will head home via an optional stop at the Cataraqui Mall for some shopping.
Tours of the Kingston Penitentiary are very popular, so this trip could be an early sell-out. Please call and register as soon as possible so that you are not disappointed.

Please call the Home Support office at 256-4700 to register.
