Heritage Conservation Consultant Heather McArthur shares the study postcard

Almonte Heritage District study postcard.

Almonte Heritage District study postcard2.
Editor’s note: The card states that you may follow the progress of the study at www.mississippimills..ca and cna provide additional input at www.facebook.com/Almonte HCD or e-mail almonte-hcd@wmta.ca

My name is Heather McArthur. I am part of the consultant team that is preparing the Downtown Almonte Heritage Conservation District Study for the Town of Mississippi Mills.

In response to a recent posting on the Millstone website that highlights the Study, there were a few comments / suggestions about the postcard that is being distributed in support of the study process. To clarify, the postcard (accompanied by a letter that explains the study process) is being sent to all property owners located within the study area.  As part of the consultation process, residents and business owners of Almonte are encouraged to fill out and submit the postcard to the Town. To capture a broader community audience, postcards are also available at the Municipal Offices, the Almonte Branch of the Mississippi Mills Public Library and in the Recreation and Culture Offices at the Almonte Old Town Hall.

While the postcard serves as a brief questionnaire, it is also intended as an invitation for residents to participate in the study and discovery process by visiting the facebook page that has been created for the project (www.facebook.com/AlmonteHCD), and /or by attending events that will be organized as part of the study process.

Attached herewith is a PDF of the postcard (the Millstone has changed it to a jpeg), which I invite you to share on the Millstone website. Rather than asking readers to complete the questionnaire included on the postcard, perhaps they could simply be invited to visit the facebook page where they can share thoughts, photos, links or anything else they feel expresses what makes downtown Almonte a unique place.

Many thanks, and kind regards,

Heather
