There is a veritable hurricane of events taking place this coming weekend. So, batten down the hatches, pull on your waders and get ready for a some fun.

On Thursday, Nov. 1, from 7 to 9pm, The White Lilly and Saje Wisdom present Celebrate the Goddess, a fashion show fundraiser for The Mississippi Valley Textile Museum. The White Lilly will present its latest collection of comfortable and chic goddess wear, while Saje Wisdom Salon and Spa will showcase its talent for architectural hair designs, inspired by Louise Beaulieu’s recent travels to Barcelona. Foodies Fine Foods will be supplying the snacks and tickets are available at Saje, The White Lilly, MVTM, Baker Bob’s.

Sometimes amateur theatre is absolutely deadly. On Friday and Saturday, the Mississippi Mudds take that literally with their production of Murder Me Always. This dinner theatre, murder mystery combines murder, suspense, humour, audience interaction, and food by Ballygiblin’s. Tickets are available at the CP Chamber office.

On Friday, Nov. 2, take advantage of two great shows and enjoy your very own art crawl. The Art at the Rowboat Vernissage and Rosemary Leach Open Studio are both taking place that night and it’s a great excuse to get out and see the works of three busy, working artists. If you don’t get a chance to see the shows on Friday night, Rosemary’s open house continues all weekend and feel free to contact Chandler and Mike at to arrange to see the artwork there.

On Saturday and Sunday, two other local events team up to make Almonte the place to be all weekend. With 80+ crafters, 2 days, swag bags for the first 50 shoppers both days – it must be time for the Handmade Harvest Craft Show! On Saturday from 9am to 3pm and Sunday from 10am to 3pm, the Almonte Old Town Hall will be packed to the rafters with cool crafts, sweet treats, and more. Preview the show online at Just down the street, the Almonte Community Centre is the location for the Christmas in the Valley Artisan Show. Over 25 area artisans, crafters, bakers will have their wares on display. It’s a wonderful opportunity to find seasonal decorations or great gifts.
