Stephen Brathwaite shares this idea for a fun way to celebrate Canada Day on Wednesday. Sounds like a great idea to me.
Since Mississippi Mills has cancelled Canada Day celebrations we’re thinking we should launch the Almonte Alameda with a Promenade from 2 to 4. Be responsible with masks and social distancing but be whimsical by wearing your hats or fascinators in your whites with a patriotic touch of red.
I plan to stroll with my red walking stick.
Please come as a tribute to all those for whom this newest park is a memorial, as a thanks to the more than 150 (and rising) donors and the dozens of wonderful volunteers who created it.
Thanks to Lanark County Council and staff for encouraging and supporting this project and to our local public works staff for lifting the trees into the ground and watering.
