Millstone contributors to run for public office

BillRos

Two Millstone contributors, lawyer Bill Chapman and journalist Rosalyn Stevens, are running for public office.

Bill Chapman, a long-time lawyer here, has been active in local boards and organizations since the 1970s. Bill has put his name forward as a Mississippi Mills councillor for the municipal elections in October 2014.

Rosalyn Stevens, an experienced journalist, has just announced her candidacy with the Carleton-Mississippi Mills Liberal Party for the provincial election on June 12, 2014. Rosalyn grew up in the Almonte area, and attended Naismith Public School and Almonte and District High School.

We are proud of both our contributors, but they will be treated equally with other candidates by this newspaper. The Millstone will not be taking an editorial position on any candidate, and will provide all candidates with an opportunity to make their views known.
