The Mississippi Mills Fire Department was busy last Friday during the windstorm. Downed  hydro wires, arcing and trees on hydro lines were the main culprits. In one case a tree in Almonte came down on wires and the power fed back into the hydro panel starting it smoking. Pakenham called within a minute of the response to this emergency and then a trip to Carleton Place to respond under Mutual Aid for arcing hydro wires arcing and a burning tree. Three of the calls were in Lanark Highlands,White Lake area with which the fire department has an Auto- Matic Aid agreement.
