Hub Hospice Palliative Care was pleased to accept a donation of $500 from Pêches & Poivre from Sweet to Savoury on March 20. In addition to their “Cheese of the Month” program, owners Lise Ladouceur and Sandra Salmins have had a donation jar on their counter since they learned of Hub Hospice Palliative Care and are matching customer donations dollar for dollar. They also contributed 15% of sales of cheese from a HHPC fundraising event last summer.
“From our personal experiences we know the value of palliative care and are pleased to be able to support this community endeavour.” explain Sandra and Lise.
Hub Hospice Palliative Care is a local organization that assists people with life threatening illnesses who are being cared for at home — wherever the client considers home — in the Mississippi Mills and North Lanark area. Under the supervision of a registered nurse, a specially trained volunteer will come to a client to listen, read, talk, or simply provide companionship, giving caregivers a few hours to rest, take care of errands, or take time for themselves so they can maintain their ability to give care.
“We are happy that Sandra and Lise and their customers see the value of Hub Hospice Palliative Care to the community and choose to support us.” says Christine Bois, Chair of Hub Hospice Palliative Care.
Pêches & Poivre offers carefully chosen fine food and kitchen products. Through their “Cheese of the Month” program, they select and order in one special cheese each month, and donate ten percent of the proceeds from its sales directly to Hub Hospice Palliative Care.
