I’d have to say that we found Japan to be the most civilized country. Why? They sell peanut butter! Hallelujah! Finally! We bought a large jar of it, got a bag of bagels, and just plunked ourselves down on this dock somewhere and ate peanut butter for the entire afternoon. What luxury!
We couldn’t get any peanut butter in Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand. Not even in Hong Kong or Taiwan. I mean, really. What’s the point of a country that doesn’t stock peanut better? And when you can’t find even a small jar of the stuff in the entire sub-continent …
