Suspicious vehicle approaches 8-year-old girl in town: parents cautioned

On February 21, 2013 a suspicious vehicle approached an 8-year-old girl on Perth Road. The child was waiting for the school bus at around 8:00 am when a newer model black van stopped.  The lone driver offered the girl a ride to school which she refused and the van drove away.

The driver is described as:

  •  White male – approx. 50 years old
  •  Short grey and black hair
  •  Brown eyes
  •  Wearing a black coat

The OPP reminds parents to regularly review street-proofing tips with their children. Read them at
