Hello Millstone Folks. I want to share a special story about somewhere my family has camped all my life. My parents visited family & friends till I was a few years old if that. We started to camp at Riverbend Park in Pakenham & I had all my siblings camping as well as a lot of friends coming up from home to enjoy themselves.
When I was 9 years old my husband named Syl who was 12 years old started to camp at Riverbend Park, as well. We met the first day he started to camp in May 1996. We fell in love at first sight but we were young so we dated off & on till 2002.
We spent nights having campfires & fun dances. We loved all the games & activities we did up there but will never forget them. We loved to spend time just the two of us and talk about special things in life. I was 15 years old when we started to date seriously and we loved to help with events like Christmas in July & Carnival in August.
We also decorated a float for the Pakenham Canada Day Parade and went on it to show everyone what fun the campsite has always been. We love to go Trick or Treating in August, as well at night for Halloween.
In 2005, I was pregnant with our daughter and we loved to go camping & enjoy the summer. Our daughter was born in September & the last weekend the campsite was open for the year we brought her up at 2 weeks old to meet everyone. Since then we have still camped up there even though we live in Pakenham.
My parents & my husband’s mom still camp up there every year. Our daughter, Vanessa who is now 10 years old, loves to go up there to be with our families. Our puppy Lola gets so excited every time Vanessa tells her we are going camping.
We love to go up and enjoy all the beautiful camping as well and see all the new events & campers. Riverbend Park has made our life very special & made a true love life come true with our family. We are now married 9 years & together 14 years, thanks to growing up camping together at Riverbend Park.
Thank you.
