Please find attached the Notice of Project Change for the Almonte Solar Project. As described in the Notice, Beckwith Solar Inc. (Beckwith Solar) is planning to develop, construct, and operate the 10 megawatt (MW) Almonte Solar Project (the Project) in the Town of Mississippi Mills, Lanark County, Ontario. Almonte Solar Project – notice of change

The Project is subject to the Renewable Energy Approval (REA) process, as outlined in Ontario Regulation 359/09 (the REA Regulation). The REA application for the Project was deemed complete by the Ministry of the Environment (MOE) and posted for a 30 day public review and comment period starting September 25, 2012 (; Registry Number 011-7237). The complete REA application is currently being reviewed by the MOE.

As per the attached Notice of Project Change, during detailed design of the Project, Beckwith Solar has refined the configuration of Project components on site. The change involves the shifting of inverter stations from their original locations to new locations throughout the site and the shifting of the main facility substation approximately 16 m away from receptors. Other Project components on site, including internal access roads, construction staging areas, solar panel arrays, and cabling systems have been re-designed. There has been no change to the overall Project footprint, main site access location or interconnection point.

A Modification Report has been prepared to provide additional information regarding the Project change, including a description and rationale for the change, mapping of the new layout of Project components on site and an updated Noise Study Report. Consistent with the original REA documentation, the assessment in the revised Noise Study Report predicts that sound levels during Project operation will meet the applicable criteria at all Points of Reception (i.e. at all receptors within 1000 metres surrounding the facility). No new net environmental effects have been identified as a result of the change to the Project layout.

The Modification Report is available on the Project website at To provide the Project Team with your comments or for further information about the Project, please visit the project website at or contact the Project Team directly:
